The Wire Draw and Olympic Lok rivets are available in 4, 5, 6 and 8 nominal diameters. The optional washer allows the fastener to be installed with simplified tooling across multiple diameter and head style parts. The collar provides an inspectable, mechanical lock ensuring positive installation. The pin further expands the sleeve filling the hole in the structure. The design of the pin when drawn into the sleeve expands to draw the sheets tight. The Wire Draw and Olympic Lok fasteners perform well in all metallic structures requiring excellent hole filling characteristics. The Wire Draw and Olympic Lok are multiple piece fasteners, consisting of a pin, sleeve, lock collar and optional washer, provides dependable installations. The procurement specification for these rivets is NAS1900. The AF1919 and AF1921 rivets are commercially available as NAS1919 and NAS1921 respectively. A notch located between the pull portion and the rivet portion of the spindle causes the two to separate at this load. The spindle is now mechanically locked in place and can no longer translate causing the pulling load to increase. Once the lock grooves on the spindle and the sleeve are properly aligned, the lock collar is driven to occupy this volume. Continued pulling causes the spindle head to contact the terminal end of the sleeve forming the blind side bulb, which bears against the work. A detail on the spindle causes the sleeve to expand, filling the hole as it pulls through. Forces created by pulling the spindle are reacted through the nose of the tool to the collar and rivet sleeve. The installation tool engages the spindle of the rivet and pulls. The rivet is inserted into the work piece. The following describes the installation sequence. The rivet is installed using a single action pneumatic-hydraulic installation tool. The AF1919 and AF1921 rivets are available in three sleeve/pin material combinations: Aluminum/Aluminum, Monel/Cres, and Cres/Cres. These rivets provide excellent hole filling and a generous blind side foot print. The AF1919 and AF1921 rivets are available in 1/8”, 5/32” and 3/16” nominal diameters. These rivets may be installed in thin and thick sheet applications where only one side of the work may be accessible. The AF1919 and AF1921 rivets are used in general purpose metallic and non-metallic applications. The rivet assembly is available with a drive anvil washer for use with blunt nose installation tooling. The rivet assembly is comprised of a sleeve, pin, and lock ring. The AF1919, protruding head, and AF1921, 100 degree flush head, are general purpose bulbed blind rivets.
